All women experiencing pregnancy should have physical and emotional support. Regardless of whether you’re shocked, scared, or excited about an unexpected pregnancy, help is available.
A Choice for Women offers free counseling. We are a safe, no-judgment zone, so no matter how you’re feeling, you can speak freely here. Schedule an appointment online or call us at 210-354-4357.
Why Am I Feeling So Emotional?
In addition to physical symptoms, pregnancy has emotional symptoms too. Moodiness is right up there among the earliest signs of pregnancy. You may feel happy one moment and be angry or sad the next.
Another symptom that can affect your emotions is fatigue. Feeling tired happens because of increased levels of the pregnancy hormone progesterone. When you’re overly tired, you can get frustrated and emotional.
The fact that your pregnancy is unexpected also adds to your sensitivity. Depending on your situation, an unexpected pregnancy can cause a wide variety of emotions, including sadness, fear, happiness, anger, and guilt. In fact, you can feel all of those at any given time.
What Is Available?
A Choice for Women offers free counseling. It’s your opportunity to talk openly about how you’re feeling. You can have honest conversations with someone who will listen.
Our counselors help you navigate the right direction for your situation. They’ll discuss your options. You have three choices: choose to end your pregnancy, make an adoption plan, or learn about the many resources to help you parent your child.
Although we do not perform or refer for abortion, we’re not afraid to talk about the procedures, side effects, and potential physical and emotional risks you may face. We believe you deserve to be factually and medically informed.
We are also not a licensed child-placing agency, but we offer referrals to local, reputable agencies that can explain the process of placing your child for adoption. We can, however, provide resources if you choose to parent.
Can I Get Free Pregnancy Services?
In addition to free counseling, A Choice for Women offers free services, including pregnancy testing and limited ultrasounds. We also provide referrals for medical care, housing, social services, and legal aid.
In some situations, we can also provide free, limited financial support. We determine financial support on a case-by-case basis, so it’s essential to talk with us about your situation.
If you need emotional support, don’t wait. Help is available now. A woman should never face a pregnancy alone.
