Can I Parent My Child?
Yes, you can parent your child, but it takes time, patience, and a lot of willpower. Parenting is equally challenging and rewarding.
We can help you. The team at A Choice for Women provides referrals for medical care, housing, social services, legal aid, and, in some cases, financial support. You’ll receive confidential peer counseling and guidance to set you on a successful parenting path.
Texas also provides programs for single mothers. The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) offers a range of programs and services. Healthy Texas Women provides affordable health care, and 2-1-1-Texas also offers a variety of services.
Should I Consider Making an Adoption Plan?
Although A Choice for Women is not a licensed child-placing agency, we can provide referrals for reputable adoption coordinators in our area. If you are not ready to parent or incapable of parenting, placing your child for adoption may be the best option.
Adoption is very different today. Now, it’s the expectant mother or birth mother who makes all of the decisions for her child. You determine the future you hope your child will have by selecting the couple that will raise them. You also choose how much contact you hope to have with your child in the future.
